Christmas market 2024 in Caen
The Caen Christmas market is taking up its winter quarters from November 23 to December 29, 2024 in the heart of the city center. The streets of the city of a hundred bell towers will come alive to the rhythm of the illuminations and the scent of mulled wine.
Around sixty wooden chalets welcome you in a warm and festive setting. Immerse yourself in the magical atmosphere of Christmas and enjoy the entertainment offered for the whole family.
Start your stroll along the wooden chalets set up on Place de la République, Boulevard du Maréchal Leclerc and Rue Bellivet. The opportunity to find some treasures to slip under the tree such as decorative objects, local crafts, jewelry or even children's toys. Here, local artisans and designers are in the spotlight!
Treat your taste buds to Christmas specialties such as chocolates, pastries, sweets, Normandy honey and pretzels. You can also enjoy some treats such as Liège waffles accompanied by mulled wine or Christmas beer.
Between rides, workshops and street shows, the entertainment program is intended to be rich. For this 2024 edition, a mischievous elf and a benevolent reindeer will wander on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. among the aisles of the chalets.
Also, don't forget to go and greet Santa Claus in his house set up in the heart of the Christmas market, Place de la République. The little ones will be delighted to immortalize this unique moment! Santa Claus will be present on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 3 pm to 7 pm and on December 24 from 12 pm to 4 pm.
On December 22, a candle piano concert is offered on Boulevard du Maréchal Leclerc. On this occasion, the public is invited to buy a candle that will be placed around the stage and whose proceeds will be donated to hospitalized children.
