Caen Memorial
A 10 minute drive from our hotel
The Caen Memorial retraces the great wars that marked the 20ᵉ century. The Memorial is part of the International Network of Museums for Peace thanks to its reflection on peace and hope.
Discover spaces dedicated to the D-Day Landings, the Shoah or two films dedicated to the Battle of Normandy.
The Caen Memorial hosts temporary exhibitions throughout the year.
Good to know:
- Family passes are available at the online ticket office or on site (2 adults and at least 1 child or 1 adult and at least 2 children)

After a poignant visit to the Caen Memorial, cross the road and have some family fun at the Parc de la Colline aux Oiseaux. A mini-farm, children's games, a merry-go-round and a short walk await you.
Designed in 1994 for the 50ᵉ anniversary of the D-Day landings, this park brings together various themed gardens: a labyrinth, the rose garden, the May garden or the Norman farm and its animals from the region.
The Parc de la Colline aux Oiseaux is a very popular place for families and has several relaxation areas including :
- picnic areas
- a mini-golf course
- fast food stands
- a 2,000 m² playground for children
Caen Castle
7 minutes walk from our hotel
Visit with your children one of the largest castles in Europe, in the heart of Caen!
This castle, built in the XIᵉ century under the order of William the Conqueror is freely accessible to visitors. You can discover :
- The remains of the keep
- The old palace and the Exchequer Room where the Duke of Normandy resided and where court meetings were held
- The ramparts.
Our favourite ❤️: the magnificent view of the city of Caen from the ramparts, which are accessible to visitors.
The Château de Caen also houses the Musée de Normandie and the Musée des Beaux-Arts.
