We stayed in the hotel between October 31st and November 1st for a short family holiday. We had been visiting Normandy the entire day, so we were pretty exhausted. We were given a nice room on the second floor with a nice view in the main square. We decided to go to sleep early as we had to wake up quite early the next day to visit the city. We didn’t manage to fall asleep for one second - the street was invaded by people screaming, setting off firecrackers and this went on for the entire night. The room was clearly not well isolated (they probably knew since they left us some earplugs in the night stand). The next morning, no excuses were made by the receptionist (and no attempt at compensating for the bad experience..) and we left the hotel pretty pissed off.
Needless to say our tour of the town was pretty much ruined.
Ps. When we confronted the receptionist, she told us we should have called the police when this happened. It was very late (2AM) and we sincerely hoped that the receptionist, hearing what was happening outside, had taken the situation under control.

Personnel, équipements, emplacement, parfaits
This is a great hotel overlooking Place de la Republique. It's an ideal location for exploring Caen. It's close to the Chateau, an easy walk to bus and tram stops and there are lots of restaurants nearby.
Our room overlooked the Square (which can be noisy at night but it was never bad enough to disturb us) with a small balcony. The room itself was large - enough room for suitcases - and comfortable. Wifi was flawless.
There is no restaurant but the hotel offers a very good breakfast buffet with a wide selection of hot and cold items. It never got crowded during our stay even when a large group checked in.
The water fountain in the lobby to refill your water bottle is a welcome idea.

La clim ne fonctionnait pas et envoyait de l'air chaud.
On m'a dit que c'était normal, qu'il n'y avait pas de clim en cette saison et qu'il fallait juste l'éteindre pour que ça ne chauffe pas !
J'ai dû ouvrir les fenêtres pendant 2 heures pour que la température baisse à 22°C, fin octobre !!
Puis le lit une place n'était pas un lit simple comme prévu, mais un vulgaire fauteuil déplié, pas du tout le même niveau de confort.
J'ai bien sûr fait des photos pour mettre sur X et Bluesky au cas où.
Là encore inadmissible.
Et pour finir, le pseudo double vitrage de la chambre n'isole absolument pas du bruit extérieur. On entendait chaque personne passant dans la rue au pied de l'immeuble, chaque véhicule, bref le moindre bruit. Je ne parle pas de musique de bar ou de gens criant dans la rue, mais de sons habituels.
D'ailleurs l'établissement le sait très bien, puisque des bouchons d'oreilles étaient mis à notre disposition dans la chambre à notre arrivée.
Là encore, j'ai fait quelques photos.
Donc, pas du tout satisfait de cet hôtel dans lequel nous n'avons pas réussi dormir correctement et d'où nous sommes repartis fatigués.
Je le déconseille fortement.
